A ISCHIA TO THE GARDENS MORTELLA GUIDED TOURS TO BLOOMING SEASON


A Ischia, to the gardens of La Mortella will continue even in winter guided tours to the blooms of the cold season. The visits, by appointment only, will be held to the accompaniment of nature guides Platypus Tours telling the extraordinary story of the gardens. It will be told of how the famous English composer William Walton had moved to Ischia with his Argentinian wife Susana immediately after the Second World War, how the couple has created an idyllic garden from nothing and left it as a foundation to allow the continuity in time. They tell the stories of musicians, concerts, artistic programs that the Foundation supports and you can visit the museum with the manuscripts of the composer and the imaginative puppet show by Lele Luzzati.
The guides will take the visitor to explore the most unusual aspects of the garden, leading him to learn about plants so far remained unknown to the mass of the public who come to the Mortella in spring and summer.
